At the top end, it seems to be all about utilising the portfolio of departments/products the bank has to offer, weighing one off against another to come out with a favorable & profitable outcome. On the other side of the fence, a number of local champions, boutiques and specialists do not have the luxury or depth to offer other products, relying heavily on advisory and/or execution. These firms are clenching tightly to their seat, speaking to clients to assure them of new times ahead together and praying the cheques come in. Survival of the brightest?
