UK BROKER OPEN MINDED TO MERGER WITH RIVALS – As MiFID II causes further hurdles for the broking industry, U.K. stockbroker Arden Partners have suggested it is open-minded to merging with a rival. Arden’s Chairman, @Luke Johnson, has said despite the business being in the midst of a “successful turnaround with a healthy balance sheet,” he believes the market is in “need of further consolidation with the company always prepared to explore opportunities to combine with complementary businesses.” Over the past year, Arden have overhauled management, most notably the appointment of @Donald Brown from RBC as the new Chief Executive. Brown believes that momentum has carried over from the previous year, however, he warns of the “challenges ahead” for the broking industry with the introduction of MiFID II. #SpartanInternational
