PANMURE WANTS MORE IN INVESTMENT BANKING – Panmure Gordon is in the process of transferring away from their traditional broking business into investment banking. In an effort to do so the firm hired Toby Rolls, previously a Senior Director at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, to hold the role of Head of Mergers & Acquisitions. The appointment is part of a larger expansion and recruitment drive that is present at Panmure as they are trying to establish a UK-focused investment bank. According to the Head of Investment Banking, John Muncey, the new unit will target advisory and capital raising business from small and medium-sized companies. Muncey also said that the bank has plans to double headcount in the “medium term”. Panmure Gordon currently employs 30 people within their investment banking functions. “We have money to invest and will be making investments to hire the right people, most likely sector heads, as we build a merchant bank. We want to put quality people in front of our clients.” #SpartanInternational
