JP MORGAN AM TAKES A FOOTHOLD IN CHINA – JP Morgan Asset Management has aims to beat other investment firms in research over Mainland Chinese Equities. A few fund managers have started increasing their investment in A-Shares that are listed on the Shenzen and Shanghai Stock Exchanges. This was ahead of some 235 companies being included in the flagship MSCI emerging markets index for the first time ever. The MSCI inclusion has two stages and will commence in May, it has spurred an initial inflow of $20bn into Chinese shares. Richard Titherington, Chief Investment Officer has said the company is increasing its proprietary research coverage of the sector from 134 A-Shares to 250. He added: “Our objective is to have a broader coverage of the A-share market than any other asset manager.” #SpartanInternational
