HEDGE FUND CLOSURE AS OWNER SEEKS HIGH OFFICE – The founder of Conatus Capital Management, @David Stemerman, will be closing his fund after a decade of business, to explore a run as the Republican candidate for govenor of Connecticut. The firm currently manages around $1.6bn, with the firms flagship fund up 18% and its media fund up 24%, however the firm is down on assets under management from its initial start up of $2.3bn back in 2008. Stemerman stated in a letter to investors that he will be “winding down” the firm in December, returning 95% of its clients money. The letter also highlights Stemerman’s desire to serve the people of Connecticut, believing “too many of our leaders do not understand the challenges we face, nor do they have a strategy for the path forward.” Stemerman, 48, will prepare to launch a campaign for candidacy in 2018. #SpartanInternational
