GOLDMAN SACHS IN HIRING MODE – Over the next 6 months it is reported that U.S. investment banking giants, Goldman Sachs, are looking to add around 6-7 senior bankers. Gregg Lemkau, Co-Head of Global Investment Banking at Goldmans, states “the initial focus is on a handful of strategic hires globally to try and really grow the top line and drive the business”. The planned hires come off the back of years of cutting costs, lower headcount, tighter compensation & retrenchment. Lemkau believes there is a change of mindset at GS towards “growth” in their investment banking unit. Thus far this year, 22% of the revenue generated at Goldman Sachs has been generated from their investment banking business. Interesting times ahead for GS’s IB business. #SpartanInternational
