DEUTSCHE BANK CONSIDERS GERMAN MEGA MERGER – Deutsche Bank’s Chairman, @Paul Achleitner, is mulling over the idea that the weakened German banks should merge to create one that thrives. Achleitner has now spoken with shareholders about the potential combination of Deutsche Bank with Commerzbank. There has not been any formal discussions and a deal is not in place, however, the re-emergence of the idea comes as a pressure to break out of a vicious circle is mounting. @Roy Smith, Emiritus Professor of Management Practice At NYU Stern School of Business, said that such a plan could work if the banks were to combine their retail businesses, decrease headcount and sell of some of their global operations such as their trading infrastructure. “It’s like tying two drunks together to give them more stability.” Smith said in an interview. #SpartanInternational
