BLOOMBERG’S OPENING OF NEW LONDON HQ – 24th October saw the opening of Bloomberg’s new headquarters in London. The building which has been labeled the most sustainable office building in the world, cost the architects Foster & Partners, around £1bn. Bloomberg say the building saves 73% in water consumption and 35% in energy consumption compared with typical office buildings, and has stressed that 90% of the materials used to make the building were sourced from the UK. The new HQ also scored 98.5% on the BREEAM sustainability assessment method, the highest score ever achieved by a major office development. Undoubtedly the project is a huge step forward for sustainable resources, with Lord Norman Foster believing the building is an “act of patronage”. #SpartanInternational
