BARCLAYS CLIMB THE UK RANKS – Barclays are returning to the UK Investment Banking league tables for the first time since 2012. This acceleration comes after @Jes Staley, who joined in 2015 from JP Morgan, came in with a “‘turnround mandate”. The bank have earned fees of circa $352m this year, generated by M&A and Capital Markets, increasing market share to 9.1%, ahead of JP Morgan (7.8%) and Goldman Sachs (6.6%). @Alisdair Gayne, Barclays’ Head of UK Investment Banking has said “We’re a UK bank and it’s hugely important that we have a strong UK franchise,” going on to say “If we can’t do it in the UK, it’s going to lead to questions about our abilities elsewhere.” #SpartanInternational
