300+ US BASED INVESTMENT BANKERS TO LEAVE DEUTSCHE BANK – On Wednesday 25th April Deutsche Bank fired 300 US based investment bankers as part of an overhaul of the global unit. A person speaking on the condition of being anonymous, said the bank were going to lay off another 100 U.S. bankers by the end of the week. The cuts took place because earnings for the first quarter were far short of what analysts’ forecasted, with a net income of €120m below the forecast of €379m. @Christian Sewing said the job cuts were “Painful but regrettably unavoidable to ensure our bank’s competitiveness in the long run.” Whilst Deutsche Bank says goodbye to their global focus, we should now see a Deutsche focusing more so on its core strengths and European foothold. #SpartanInternational
